Makeshift Spaceship

It's been a long time since I got to submit anything, I've been so busy with work + club + Rl events that I haven't gotten much time for my hobbies.

Oh well, here's a quickly scrubbed clean submission for the current contest, one of my fondest memory's of youth, I would fashion the innards of a space shuttle from anything I could get my hands on (and not get in trouble for using).

I used cardboard boxes for control panels and would draw buttons and switches on them, then I would take paper towel tubes and fasten them together with glue and tape for levers, throttle, shifting and steering.

I had it all worked out, the only thing I didn't have was a parachute for landing, but I had my lucky blanket with me.

That's not all, I made many journeys to the stars in this thing, I would land on strange planets and explore, sometimes with my sister, and I would even bring back moon dust on some occasions. Of course this was always set to the background music of Holst, the planets. At that time it just seemed wrong to journey with something like... journey, or ELO, or def leopard, now I do it all the time.
